Mr. A. Latnbie, inspector of stock at Opunake, is on a holiday visit to Gisborne.
Advice has been received that Miss Sheila l'oi'teous, Gisborne, was successful in obtaining her diploma of home science in the recent University of New Zealand examinations.
The engagement is announced between Colin Reay, fourth son of Mr and Mrs G. S. Mcßae, Waikanae, Wellington, and Freda Emily, elder daughter of Miami Mrs W. J. Cox, Wliataupoko, Gisborne.
Gisbornites will be interested to know that Mr. W. Barrington Miller, at- present touring Southern California 1 before leaving 'for Honolulu, is the guest of Mr. Charles Chaplin. Amongst other guests is Mr. H. G. Wells, the wellknown author.
