A. CHRISTMAS WEDDING
(Herald Correspondent.) A wedding of interest to a number of people in the Motu district and m borne was quietly solemnised in ttie lovely garden at “White House, Havelock North, Hawke’s Bay, on Tuesday, December 24, the contracting parties being Margaret Alice, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Chalmers Allan, Ihe Retreat,” Portobello, Dunedin, and Herbert Stanley Bruce, son of Mi. and Mrs. H. Cilbertson, Havelock North. The bride who was given away by he uncle Mr. D. 8. Kemsned, Tunaru looked charming in a model frock of snel Dink georgette over taffeta, a pink picture hat, and silver shoes. She carried a gheaf of delicate pink sweet peas, c nations and roses. * Her sister, Miss Hope Allan, of Dunedin, attended as bridesmaid, , weaung a frock of deeper pink a beige straw hat, and pink velvet shoes, and her sheaf of sweet peas and roses was of the same toning as her nock. Mr. John Gilbertson, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man. Only relatives and intimate friends were present at the ceremony and weie Reived by Mr. and Mrs. II Gilbertson, the latter bearing an ensemble of navy blue satin beaute and lace, relieved vnt touches ot white, and a navy and white happv couple left later by car for the South island! the bride wearing a smart ensemble of navy phantom and a navy straw ha®.
