150 BY AIR LAST WEEK SERVICE CARS ALSO BUSY Passenger services in Gisborne experienced a very busy time last week, and there are "heavy hookings for this veek as well. The East Coast Airways’ machines carried nearly 150 passengers last week, which was the busiest yei experienced by the company, and the position is re gardefl as very' satisfactory by the prin cipals of the firm. The secretary. Mi G. Crawshaw. reported to-day that doring the week the two machines were flown oil five trips down and five hack, the remainder being single-plane trips. Roth took their maximum loads this morning, and another full load was carried this afternoon. Bookings for the remainder of the week were good, and were also very satisfactory right up to the middle of January. As is usual at this time of the year, the service cars are experiencing a brie! slack period between the Christmas and New Year holidays. Reports of the number of passengers carried last week were encouraging on all routes, and on the Coast run an improvement on last year was reported. On the south road, a comparison with the past is difficult to make, in view of reorganisation which has taken place. On the north, the position was much the same as last year, with indications of an improvement.
