278 FOR SIX WICKETS SOUTH CANTERBURY GAME (Per Press Association.) TIMARU, last night. The match between M.C.C, and South Canterbury concluded on Saturday, and resulted in a draw. On the first day M.C.C. made 182 and, at stumps, South Canterbury had lost three for 48. The home side carried their score to 219, due chiefly to the fine partnership of Allcott and Reynolds, the former getting 74 and the latter 45. M.C.C., in its second innings, played dashing cricket, scoring 278 in 158 minutes. Mitchell-Innes gave a fine display in scoring 90 not out.
