MOTOR CYCLIST KILLED
COLLISION WITH TRAM SUMNER FATALITY * Y (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, last night. William Henry Prior Gibson, aged 20 years, single, a tannery' worker, of Sumner, was riding a motor cycle when he collided with a tram at Redcliffes, Sumner, about C o’clock on Saturday evening. He was admitted to the public hospital with severe head injuries, but died early this morning.
COLLISION WITH LORRY RIDER SUCCUMBS PILLION PASSENGER HURT (Per Press Association.) HASTINGS, last night. As the result of internal injuries suffered in a collision on Friday evening between the motor cycle he was riding and a motor lorry, a y r oung man, Walter Girvan, of Napier, died in the Napier Hospital this morning. Mrs. Nancy Watts, Napier, who was riding pillion on the motor cycle with Girvan, was also injured but not seriously. The collision occurred on the Napier-Bay View road, when the cycle crashed into the rear of a motor lorry driven by James Tait, of Bay View, who had pulled the vehicle on to tho side of the road.
