Mr C. Clibborn, secretary of the Lytteltcm Harbor Board, who returned by the Murama is most optimistic of the future tourist trade to the South Island and the prospects of visits from P. and 0. cruise ships. Wide interest' should be created, he said, by the publication of a report he is preparing for the Lyttelton board on many phases of his investigations in Australia for the information of the board, to assist it in making provision for a seaplane landing base. Ho also made special inquries as to the transTasman air service. The general manager of an air company in Sydney informed him that although the scheme was held up in the meantime, the company would continue with its plans, despite the loss of Sir Charles t'ord Smith's services.
