ARROW RIVER GOLD
YIELD ON FAMOUS CLAIM £IOOO IN 20 DAYS (Per Press Association.) D'ONEDIN, this day. A reminder of the early days of Otogo mining was created to-day when two men brought into the OUgo Daily Times office a pickle bottle two-thirds full 01 gold and a tobacco tin full of nuggets, the largest of which weighed over two ounces.
The gold was the yield from a. washup of the Golden Arrow Sluicing Co. for 20 davs of work and was estimated to be worth £IOOO. The claim occupies .a site on the Arrow River from which, over 70 years ago, a party of miners headed bv a colorful figure called iox took 2321b5. weight of gold in a little over a 1 month.
The company has, paid a dividend of over 60 per cent, on the first year's working and expectsi to pay 100 per cent, this year on it« capital of £llOO.
