POVERTY BAY CLUB FIRST TRIAL FOURS A meeting of the Poverty Bay Bowing Club’s committee was held in the clubhouse last night. There were present Messrs. B. Neilson, in the chair, J. Bacon, H. Warren, W. Glover, J. Webb, G. R. Arderri, H. Duckworth, A. Jukes, and the hon. secretary, Air. R. Webb. A letter was received from the' East. Coast Bowing Association advising of the general meeting of that association on October 7. The remits forwarded dealt with the appointment of the eightoar boat to the Napier club in the forthcoming season and the appointment of the selector to approve crews selected for the eight-oar championships. The remits were fully discussed and the delegates were instructed as to the manner of voting on these remits. The list for the First Trial Fours shows a gratifying response from old and new members and it. is expected that more than 12 crews will be in training for this event. The crews will be picked on Thursday at 5.30 p.in.' and the committee asked for the following strokes to be in attendance R. Webb, W. Glover, T. Munro, I. Stevens, R. Stevenson, R. Neilson. T. Stevens, G. R. Ardern, J. Bacon, M. Doyle, W. McLeod, and J. McCarthy. ! The club captain, Mr. R. Neilson, intimated that the plant was in firstclass order and that the crews could take the water on Saturday. October 10 was fixed for the commencement ol racing iri the First Trial Fours.
