FREEZING CHARGES
BKDUCTION UUGHII An appeal to the.Gisborne Refrigerating Company to reduce freezing charges to the Hawke’s Bay .level was. made, at to-day’s meeting of • Hip ’Poverty Bay provincial executive of the Farmers Onion. The president, Mr. J. K. Benson, moved that the union should write to the Refrigerating Company in this,matter,.and stated that it was time Gisborne secured advantages available in Hawke s Bay. Mr. G. V. Smith stated that at present the Gisborne charges wore on an average of 7d per sheep above Hawke’s Bay, 8d per lamb, and Is per 1001 b of beef. . •: ; Mr. C. Tietjen: It will mean that ,i( the teductibn iA‘ made iri the charges We will get another Is per head on our sheep, aild that, is all the difference between profit and loss. Air. Smith: I do not. think von will get any move than the seveuponce. The motion to .write to tlie Refrigerating Campanv was carried without dissent.
