DRIVER’S LUCKY ESCAPE

LORRY HITS OBSTRUCTION POLE ACROSS ROADWAY (Par Press Association.) WANGANUI, this day. Tho driver of a milk lorry proceeding to Wanganui had a miraculous escape this morning about 3.30 o’clock. He encountered a fallen power lino bluegum pole in a sharp cutting on tho Kniwhaiki road. The pole had fallen across the road and wag lying' suspended three feet above tho metal between the banks. The lorry was climbing a hilt when it came in contact with the pole and was badly damaged. The driver was tangled up with the wires ami was very fortunate to escape uninjured.
