A well-known figure in the Auckland sporting world, Mrs. Louisa Alice Adams, donor of the Adams Memorial Gold Cup to the Auckland Trotting Club, died on Thursday, aged 85 years. Mrs Adams had been a resident of Auckland for 79 years. She was born in Birmingham, and arrived in New Zealand with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Wright, in 1856. .She married Mr. William Adams, who was keenly interested in the turf.
