Mr. J. S. Wauchop returned to Gisborne last night after spending several days in Opotiki. Flying Officer D. P. Lee, soil of Mr. atjd "Mrs. Percy G. Lee, Remuora, Auckland, who went to England and joined the Royal Air Force in 1931, has been promoted and transferred Irak. Mr. S. Ringer, roving patrol for the Automobile Association, Auckland, who has been in the Gisborne district during the past few days, left this morning on his return north.
Mv. J. I'. Barr, of the. cheese department of the Cambridge Dairy Company’s Rautapu factory, has been appointed manager of the Waimana Cooperative Dairy Company’s factory, Bay of Plenty. Mr. Barr has been nine years at tho flautapu factory. Passengers who travelled to Naplei; yesterday by the East Coast Airways plane included Messrs. C. Richardson, H. R. Irving, and J. A. McKenzie. Those who travelled to Gisborne tho same day included Miss Lyspar; Messrs. J. Matthews, M. Mcßath, T. Sutherland, 11. Cayle and T. James. The following transfers have been made in the staff of tho Bank of New South Wales: —Mr. R. B. Hart, manager at Warkworth, to bo manager at Frankton; Mr. L. Campbell, accountant at Hamilton, to bo manager at Warkvvortli; and Air. H. N. Beckett, of the Karangahape road branch, Auckland, jib be accountant at Hamilton. Jr
Mr 11. F. Hurford, Matawai, has arranged to leave for England shortly, and will no return to the district. An intimation to this effect was received in a letter read at the Farmers’ Union to day from Mr Hurfo.nl, who tendered his resignation. This was received with regret, the president, Air ,T. E. Jenson, saying that Mr Hurford had ‘,,-en a verv valuable member.

Mr. AL .T. Ravage, Leader of the Labor Party in Parliament, who will lie paying a visit to Gisborne next week, has a full programme of engagements. He arrives here on Tuesday from Rotorua and that night will address a public meeting in the Opera House. The following day he visits the Coast, addressing gatherings at Tolaga Bay at: 2 p.m., and at Tokomam Bay at S p.m. On Thursday bo travel? to Nuhaka to speak to a gathering in the afternoon, while a meeting has been arranged for that evening in Wairoa. Air. Ravage is to speak to a gathering of Alanutuko residents on Friday night, prior to hi* departure next Saturday morning for Auckland, via Rotorua,
