TURF CLUB RACES
MEETING AT THE PARK SECOND DAY’S EVENTS Perfect weather helped to make the concluding day of the Poverty Bay Turf Club’s steeplechase meeting at the Park course to-day one of the most enjoyable experienced at a winter meeting in Poverty Bay for many years. From an early hour in the day, there was every indication that the crowd would be better than the average, 'and when the first race was run the stands were already well tilled. Expectations of a further and more substantial increase in the totalisator turnover for the day, by comparison with that of the second day of the lfili.'t meeting, were entertained by club ffirials, and those responsible for the decision to hold the winter meeting a! the Park course were jubilant in the prospect of the meeting turning out the best for some yegrs.
