DIAMOND THEFT ALLEGED

Peter Young, aged 21. formerly of New Zealand, was committed for trial to-day in the Police Court on a charge of having • stolen six. diamond rings valued at £65 on duly 19. Fred. Moser, .assistant in the city jeweller's shop of Fanny Jacobs, said that Young came into the shop and asked to see some diamond rings. While inspecting a I ray containing a, number of rings, he shoved a tell tray under his coat and ran away. Moser gave chase and caught him. The. police prosecutor said that Young arrived in Sydney from New Zealand a year ago with £2OO. He recently secured a job as a wriier.
