TO-NIGHT’S TOURNEY lirTniiNs-HomuiTSi >x 'Boxing enthusiasts in Gisborne anticipate an outstanding success in connection with the tournament to be staged by the Gisborne Boxing Association at till l Opera House this evening. The main attraction will be the professional -contest between Watty Robertson, Gisborne, and Frank Hutchins, Taranaki, two really good welterweights who should put on a clean and interesting fight. The performances id' Robertson are well known to a majority of sporting followers in Gisborne, his record being one of solid fights with a good percentage of wins. He has been in the professional ranks for some years now, and his contests at home and in other centres have invariably given satisfaction to the “fans.” Hutchins comes with a splendid record of amateur fighting, and with a draw as liis first professional score.
The second outstanding attraction will be the meeting of Garry Gordon. New Zealand champion in his class, and holder of the Keenan Trophy for the most scientific boxer at the 1934 amateur championship tournament, and Tom Callaghan, Gisborne, a tough and fast youngster who cun be expected to give the visitor a good contest.
