OBITUARY
MISS EVELYN WILLIAMS Deep regret will be occasioned !bv the announcement of the death this morning of Miss Evelyn Aland Williams, a daughter of the late Air J. W. Williams, a member of Parliament from 1973 to 1979. The deceased was one of a large family which took a prominent part in the settlement of the East Coast district, surviving -members of the family being Air K. S. Williams, ALP., Dr. .T. W. Williams, of Gisborne, Air Hal Williams, who resides in England, Mr Alexander Williams, Mrs T. 8. Williams, and Airs 11. Taplin. Another brother was killed during the war, and the Rev. Percy Williams died recently? The late Aliss Williams, who was beloved -by a wide circle of friends throughout the district, has been an invalid for several years, but retained a keen interest in current events.
The death of Mr. Alfred Burrows occurred at Oxford recently. He was 88 years old .and was one of D le early pioneers of the district. He was the second son of Mr.' George Samuel Burrows, a judge in the Court of Chancery, London. Deceased came to New New Zealand in 1874 and subsequently settled in the Oxford district.
