OBITUARY
SIR JOHN LAMROCK SYDNEY, July 20. The death occurred yesterday of Brigadier-General Sir John Lamrock. Until recently- ho was secretary of the Moorficld Race Club. The late Sir John Lamrock, who wav 7ti years of age, served from 1914 to 1910 in the 2llth Battalion of the Australian Imperial Force. Mr. Thomas Henry Parkinson, of Opotiki, died at Whakatune on Wednesday night, lie had been in ill-health for several weeks. Mr. Parkinson, who was born in Victoria 52 years ago, came to New Zealand with his parents when a child. He became a trainer of racehorses and for a number of years he was trainer for Mr. R. Porter, with irhom h« had some good successes, winning the Railway- Handicap at Elierslie with Nancy Lee. Other horses which won considerable money for the same owner were Mosaic and Mosque.
