A feature of the Victoria Park rates was the performance of Golden Treasure in the Nursery Handicap of furlongs, lie clipped ijsec. from the race record. His win was especially impressive, as he. drew an unfavorable barrier position, anil was near the tail of the field until the last furlong. Golden Chance and Golden Treasure, respectively three and two-year-old bothers of* Golden Wings, opened their accounts on successive race days in the metropolitan area. Results were : Nursery Handicap: First Division.— Golden Treasure, 7.7 (.Knox), 1: Wise Roy, 8.7 (Foxe), 2; Cnlcseo, 7.7 (Finch), 3. Thirteen started. Won by a head and three-quarters of a length. Time bSJ. Sir Walter was third in the second division of the Nursery' Handicap. Welter Handicap: First Division.--Prince Pombal, 10.7 (Webb). 1: Tortoni, 8.11 (.Fames), 2: El l’nraiiso, 8.1 (Maxwell), 3. Eighteen started, includiuu l.iinoux and Tea Fight. Won by two lengths and 1| lengths. Time, 1.27. - -a race record. Tea Picker was unplaced in lho second division of the Welter. Viking and Stratosphere were unplaced in Hie Maiden Handicap. King of Diamonds was unplaced in the second division of the Flying Handicap.
