HASTINGS STOCK SALE BEEF VALUES MAINTAINED A large yarding of 500 fat cattle at Hie 1 lasi lugs stock sale yesterday sold at values which were well maintained on last week. The entry of prime ox was limited. Exporters operated oil both prime ox and prime cow. whole lines of the latter being cleared often in one knock. Bullocks sold to C 9 10s. heifers in C 6 17s. and cows to £5-10s 6d. BUTTER MARKET QUIET The. demand for New Zealand huttei in London has quietened, and quotations are par to Is per ewt. lower. Messrs. Joseph Nnmati and Company report to-day as follows: "Rutter*, Odin 90s; the market is quiet.” The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company have received the following cablegram from London dated July 18: —"Blitter. 89s to 90s. Cheese. 445" to 44s 6d. The markets are quiet."
