USE OF RESERVES
HUNT MEETING CHARGE REDUCTION (IRA XTHD Matters regarding the use of borough reserves were considered by tile Borough Council last night, when the reserves committee reported as follows: — ‘•Rental Makaraka Domain.—An application from the Poverty Bay Hunt Club for a reduction in the rental to be charged for tho use of the Park Domain fur their annual rare meeting to £ls, being the rental charged for a similar function last year, was considered by the committee. The club is not in a sound financial position, and will he put to a certain amount of expense in providing the necessary temporary requirements for the meeting. Therefore, the committee l
recoimhends that the rental be fixed at £2O, reducible to £ls. provided the grounds' and appointments are left in a clean and tidy condition after the meeting. "Grazing Rights.—An offer was submitted for the grazing rights (sheep only) over the council’s sanitary reserve, Awapuni road, and waterworks reserve, .Matawhero, These reserves are planted with trees. Therefore, the committee recommends that the offer be not entertained. “Caretaker’s Cottage, Makaraka Domain.—The engineer reported that the drainage at this dwelling is unsatisfactory and a. menace to health, and to remedy the conditions it would be necessary to install a new outfall drain and concrete tank, estimated to cost £2l. Your committee authorised this work to he undertaken.” The report was adopted.
