HONORED BY GERMANY
BERLIN, June 1. To-day on the nineteenth anniversary
of tlie battle of Jutland—known here us Skagerrak—-63 flags which bad once waved above warships of the former Imperial Navy wore decorated with the "Cross of Honor for Front. Fighters." The battle is regarded here as a great German victory.
Among the 13 flags decorated in Berlin were those of the S«harnhorst, the Elmden, the Goeben, and the .Breslau. A Bag which was hoisted on the Moltke at the bombardment of Lowestoft in 1916 was also honored.
The bond of continuity between the Germany of Kaiser Wilhelm II and the Germany of Adolf Hitler was further emphasised at Stettin, where the aged Field Marshal von Mackensen, the. most distinguished living representative of the Imperial Army, took the salute at a march past of the crew of the pocket battleship Admiral Scheer.
