REBUILDING MOSCOW
NEW 10-YEAR PLAN : SPLENDOR OF SOCIALISM LONDON, July 12. The Daily Telegraph’s Moscow correspondent says that the Soviet has adopted a 10-year plan for the reconstruction and enlargement of Moscow to twice, its present size. Dilapidated iiouses will be demolished "aticL new structures erected, none of which must be less than six storeys high. -All the, Streets will be widened and asphalted. A great new Lenin’s avenue will cut through the centre of the city, whose boundaries. will be extended by more, than 70.000 acres. The famous Red Square will be doubled, in size. Eleven new river bridges will be built and the erection, of 530. schools, 17 hospitals and 50 new cinemas are also in-, eluded.in the, plan.. ‘ ThV lzvestia says the plan is Russia’s latest challenge to the capitalist world, where such a ' big scale reconstruction .would be impossible. “Reconstructed Moscow,” it says’, "will reflect the splendor of the Socialist existence.”
