“The state of the building figures is particularly healthy this month,” said Sir.; J. VV. Andrews, Mayor of Lower Hint, at a meeting of the Lower Miltl Council. The figures for June showed that 15 buildings, worth £7359, were, lniilf, of which eight were dwellings in wood valued at &W2A. The figures for June, 193(4, were 12 buildings to the value of £1385. Some months ago Mr, R. Robb exhibited in Gisborne a model yacht, modelled on a plan taken from an American magazine. The yacht attracted a ir o od deal of attention locally, and Mr. Robb recently dispatched it- to Aueklajid for entry in a model class at the Winter Show teh.ro. To-day he received advice that the model was highly commended in its class, and also secured first, prize in a sailing contest- conducted by t.ho Winter Show Association.
