BRITISH POSSESSIONS
SURVEY BY AMERICANS PACIFIC AIR SERVICES LONDON, July 11. The Daily Herald says that the British and American Governments are- considering reports that a United States eoastgunrd cutter landed men on Baker and Howland islands, and surveyed them as possible aerodrome sites. It is thought in London that the party landed erroneously, believing that the United States owned the islands, which may be important landing places in. the event of the establishment of an airway between Hawaii and Australia.
