NOTHING BUT THE OATH
“I swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and everything but the truth." said a sea-faring witness, taking the. oath in the Admiralty Court in London. ‘ ‘ everything but the truth?" exclaimed Mr. Justice Langton. "Yes, sir.” replied the sailor. ‘ ‘ Usher," said the judge, ‘‘don’t, let him. sav ‘everything’ when lie menus ‘nothing.’ Make him repeal, after vou, clause-by clause, the oath, lho whole oath and nothing but the oath!" (Laughter,)
