COMMITTEE MEETING TJ-TIO* MONTH’S BUSINESS There was a full attendance of mem hers at the monthly meeting of the Manga papa School Committee held last evening. It was decided to hold tl) • annual school ball on Tuesday, July 30. in the City Hall, ll was reported that a ladies’ committee, ‘ with Medsnines Moir and Ritchie in charge, had been formed on Wednesday afternoon. It was mentioned also that in preparation for the annual fixture the children .were being taught new dances. A grant of £2 towards the laying out of the school gardens, under the supervision of Miss Scott, was approved. As the result of the. flooding of the grounds it had become necessary to make repairs to the outlet pipes, while, a fill vert, was required in Run' street.' The laying on of the gas to the school was decided upon, while a sink for the washing of cups in connection with the free milk supply is to he installed. The proposal establishment of an intermediate school was thoroughly discussed, but on. the information available the committee decided th/it it could see no need' at present for the change. The minor repairs and improvement - suggested ,h.v the previous month’s visiting committee were adopted. Messrs Bignnll and Sell were appointed a visit ing eommitl.ee. Accounts amounting In £8 16s were passed for payment.
