SATURDAY'S PLAY
MEDAL & BOGEY MATCHES
Members of the Poverty Bay Golf Club engaged in medal and bogey matches at the Awapuni links on Saturday and during the week-end, the medal match being played in conjunction with the qualifying round for the King's Birthday tournament, in which about- 60 players' were engaged to-day. Further qualifying rounds were played on Saturday, and match play was commenced during the week-end, the first two rounds being decided.
The best cards handed in in connection with the medal match were as follow :—C. M. Bull (13), 65; Y. Hutchinson (14), 65; R. Barker (19), 65; P. Kahlenberg (9), 67; F. R. Beckett (17), 70; A, J. Stock (14). 70. C. A. Mackley won the bogey match played during the week-end. the best cards handed in being as follow:—C. A. .Mackley (19). 1 up; D. Hebenton (21), all square; M. Dobson (24). 1 down: D. F. Cbrisp (12), 1 down; M. R. Maude (12), 2 down; J. W. BarnsGraham (14). 2 down; T. J. Oorkery (10). 3 down; E. Jenkinson (13), 3 down; R. J. M. Reynolds (18). 3 down: W. M. Jenkins (24), 4 down.
The qualifying rounds for the Reynolds Cup tournament will be played on Thursday and Saturday of this week. 32 players to qualify.
