SYDNEY SHARE MARKET STEADY TONE MAINTAINED SYDNEY, May 31. On Sydney Stock Exchange to-day the investment markets were quiet, which is not unusual with a new internal loan pending. The tone generally was steady. LONDON MARKETS The Bank of New Zealand advises receipt, of the following advice from London as at the close of business this week : "W ethers: There is little inquiry. Wheat cargoes to-day were dull and easier. Parcels were slow and lower. Futures: London, June, 22s 4d per quarter; September, 22s 7d. Liverpool, May, 5s lfd per cental; July, 5s 2gd; October, 5s 3d; December, 5s 3gd. The. spot trade is slow and with an easier tendency. Australian, ex .ship, 28s 3d a quarter. . Flour is quiet. Australian, ex store, 21s to 21s 3d a sack. Oats are steady; peas and beans are quiet. BRITISH TOBACCO (ATJST.) CO. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. A cable message has been received by the. Stock Exchange Association that the directors of the British Tobacco Company (Australia). Limited, bave. declared a quarterly dividend of li per cent., payable, on June 29. ROBINSON ICE CREAM CO. A net profit of £4036, compared with £1905 in the previous year, is shown in the accounts of the Robinson Ice Cream Company, Limited, Auckland, for the year ended April 30. The profit is struck after providing £5191 for depreciation and £2112 for income tax. The directors recommend a dividend of 7 per cent., compared with 6 per cent, in the two previous years.

It is understood that a syndicate has offered to purchase the whole of the shares of the Oamarn Woollen Factory Company, Limited. The purchase price is not available, but it is believed that a return of 13s 6cl on the £1 shares of the company would be payable on realisation of the assets should the negotiations result in a sale. The last dividend paid by the company, which is not. listed on the Stock Exchange, was 4 per cent, in 1929.
