THE ALBURY MURDER
ALLEGED CONFESSION MAN FROM NEW ZEALAND ADELAIDE, April 21. When Robert Henderson Rae appeared at the Adelaide Court on Saturday charged with vagrancy, the police prosecutor informed the court that Rae claimed to be the murderer of the girl whose body was found in a culvert at Albury last September, since when the police had been unable to unravel the crime. Rae, who had declared that he came from New Zealand, went into an Adelaide new.spaper office last Thursday, and. said that he had brought the girl from New Zealand, whereafter they had lived as man and wife. In a fit of rage he strangled her, and then disposed of the body.-. Rae, when interviewed by the police, would neither admit nor deny the foregoing statement. He was unable to recollect going into the newspaper office. He was remanded until May 4.
