TO-DAY'S WEDDING
deLAUTOUE—PACKE A very pretty wedding was solemnised at Holy Trinity Church to-day, when Florence. Kmilye, fourth daughter of Mr* H. Paeke and the late Canon Paeke, wa.-, married to Ralph Bertrand, son of -Ur. and Mrs. Ralplt deLautour, of Wairoa. The ceremony was performed by Canon A. F. Hall, and the Rev; Mr. Moresby presided at the organ. The church was Deautifully decorated for the occasion and made a pretty setting for the bridal group, The bride, who was escorted by her brother, Mr. V. Paeke, >vore a beautiful frock of magnolia angel-skiu lace with a soft cowl neckline, and long tightfitting sleeves to the wrist. The bodice was cut with a straight back, and a pointed front outlined at the waist with a stitched satin ■ belt fastened in front by a jewelled buckle. The skirt was moulded to the figure to the knees, where it fell into a full circular flaire with godets of lace let in all round. She wore the beautiful family veil of cream Brussels net w r orked in silk, and attached to the head by a spray of orange blossom arranged around the back of her head. Cream gloves, court shoes of magnolia velvet, and a, shower bouquet of cream roses, intermingled with asparagus fern, completed her charming toilette.
The bridesmaid, Miss Molly Foster, was prettily hooked in a gown of Margaret itose" pink crepe mnrocain made with a high rounded neck, and ornamented with three flat flowers of wine color, with golrj centres. The short sleeves were cut in six pieces, fitting the arm to the elbow and falling into a full flaire. The waistline was high and finished with a- belt of wine material and below a stylish basque fitting around tho flips and rounded up to the front. The skirt, was moulded to the figure tc the knees, where it joined a full circulni flounce iidet with godets. Her hat ol wine velvet turned up at the back was trimmed with gold flowers, and wine shoes with stockings to tone were worn. Sho carried a beautiful sheaf of pink and mauve chrysanthemums arranged with greenery and finished with a matching ribbon. The bride’s nephew and niece, Gerald and 1 Diane Fitzgerald, acted as page and flower girl. Master Gerald wore a cream silk shirt and wine colored velvet pants. Little Diane’s frock was a dainty cream smock worked l in rose pink, j>ale green fawn and saxe. She wore a colored ribbon and carried a tight little Victorian posy. The duties of best mau were ably carried out by Mr. Malcolm Scott, Paeroa. At'tei; the ceremony a, small reception was field in the Freesia Lounge, whore Mrs. Packe welcomed the guests, ifei becoming frock was of navy blue and white figured crepe de chine with ft soft jabot front relieved with a. white vest. A three-quarter length navy coat was worn on top, trimmed with accordion pleating, and a navy felt hat with a white feather mount, navy bag, and gloves completed her toilette. She carried in, lovely bouquet of mixed autumn tinted flowers and asparagus fern. Mrs. A. Pittar, sister of the bride, looked attractive in a tomato crepe marocain frock with a white pin spot, and trimmed with a cocoa brown and white spotted collar and cuffs and a pleated shoulder frill. Her hat, bag, gloves and shoes were a matching brown. Mrs. Ron. Fitzgerald, sister of the bride, wore, a smart black and white silk crepe gown trimmed with bright red and worn with a small red hat. Miss Joan Packe, sister of tho bride, wore a pretty frock of Marina blue flat crcpo relieved with touches of grey and a small grey hat. After the reception the bride and bridegroom left on their honeymoon, Mrs dcLaulour travelling in a brown and fawn diagonal striped frock with touches of lime green, cut on straight lines with an inverted pleat back and front. A brown swagger coat was worn on lop. made with cape sleeves and an accordion pleated collar. Brown suede shoes, hag and gloves were worn, and her small hat was of brown and fawn mottled felt with a plain brown ribbon band.
