TO-DAY’S PLAY ON OVAL VISITING NAPIER TEAMS Napier senior and third grade teams played on the- Oval this afternoon, and •provided good exhibitions oi Rugby. The ground was in good order and conducive to’ fast play. The principal game was between Napier Tecnniyal College Old Boys and the Gisborne Old Boys senior teams, and this was looked forward to with some anticipation from the fair crowd of spectators which gathered. Iho curtainraiser was between the third grade teams representing Napier H. 5.0.8. and Gisborne Old Boys. •Several injuries were received in the curtain-raiser, resulting in two Napier men and one Gisborne player leaving the field. Gr the visitors, A. Willis and Gemmell received slight concussion, and R. Beets a cut over the right eye. The curtain-raiser was won by the home team, which was superior in back play and had little difficulty in finishing with a score or 17 points to 8. For the home team tries were scored by Scott, Beets, Green, and IT. and C. Sebire, while Beets converted one try. Napier’s points comprised a try by W. Willis, converted by Scoble, who also kicked a penaltv goal. The'half-time score in the senior game was B—6 in favor of- Gisborne. The game was fast nml interesting.
