LONDON DISCUSSIONS NEED FOR CONCILIATION (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) LONDON, March 22. The newspapers welcome Mr ,1. A Lyons and publish photographs of the delegation mid details of the mission. The Daily Telegraph says that a clash of British and Australian meat interests can only be settled by personal discussions in a spirit of intelligent conciliation. If Mr Lyons stands on his Australian rights under the Ottawa agreement he can certainly stop the imposition of a levy for the present, but the British Government in that case can impose those quantitative restrictions to which objection has been raised in Australia. Neither country is likely to negotiate in ignorance of these possibilities, but the expedient of Britain delaying action by a temporary subsidy, and Australia ceasing to export mutton, are signs of willingness to work out the difficulties in a friendly man nor.
