APPLICATIONS TO BOAS© HEADING RESUMED (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Transport Co-ordination Board resumed its sittings to-day for consideration of licenses for commercial air serVICG9. The most important issue is that of a license for a national trunk service. Other applications were adjourned sinedie, except that of .Mr. Harvie. bf Mangere, for a taxi service, which was struck out at Ins own request. Applicants for a trunk service were the Union Steam Ship Company, on behalf of Union Airways (New Zealand), Limited, the now amalgamated New Zealand Airlines. Limited (New 1 IVmouth) and Dominion Airways. Limited (Auckland), ami New Zealand Airways, Limited, Dunedui. Evidence lias been submitted by a number of local bodies and chambers of commerce. A letter from the, Union Steam Ship Company said that if a license as a! present applied lor was granted, application would later be made to extend the service to New Plymouth and Auckland in the north and lnvercargill in the south, after actual experience over six, or perhaps 12. months, i Expert evidence is being taken this afternoon concerning flying and ground conditions, essentials of a service, etc.
