PAGANINI AS SUBJECT LONDON, .lan. 20. The latest biographical play, to be tried out for some special matinees, centres round the life of Paganilll. It is said that the great violinist was in league.with the devil, and the play has :been based on this legend. Liszt, Berlioz. Chopin and Georges Sand iigure in the play, and also Paganini's rnannger, George Harrys, who was a dwarf. This part will be played by Andrew Leigh, and the part of Paganini by Ernest Milton, who, rumor has it, is also the author of the play, though -the author's name is given as David Wells. Other biographical plavs in London include "Young Mr. Disraeli" and "Marv Head," both of which are. to be made'into films, "Olive of India," and ft revival of "The Barretts of Wimpole Street." Another notable revival is to be "The Beggar's Opera," with Lovat Eraser ;s original designs and Frederic Austin again as conductor. This production ran for 1463 performances at the LyVic JTheatre, Hammersmith, beginning in 1920, under the late Sir Nigel Playfair's management. <j
