'A further long list of fulls and only :i few rises in prices was the chief feature on the Sydney Stock Exchange today. The market is inclined to be a little nervy, due partly to lower wool prices, events overseas and the pending State elections, hut is expected to begin to steady in a few weeks.

Stock Exchange sales: Commercial Bank of Australia, 16s 2d; ditto, pref. £9 17s; British Tobacco, 37s 3d; Broken Hill, South, 74s 6d; North Broken Hill, £5 2s. HASTINGS STOCK SALE STRONG STORE SHEEP MARKET At the Hastings stock sale on Wednesday, a yarding of BCO store cattle met a variable market, and the prices realised were on a par -to easier. Young cattle were more affected than older sorts, which were fairly steady. A moderate entry oi fat sheep sold keenly, with the top lines of ewes showing a slight improvement. Lambs and wethers were fairly steady. Store sheep totalled 11,000 head and prices for lambs showed a decided improvement up to Is 6d a head, while wethers and ewes sold steadily. Quotations : Fat cattle.—Bullocks, £7 ISs to £9 6s 6d; eows, £3 2s 6d to £6 ss ; heifers, £4 to £6 10s.
Store cattle. —Steers and bullocks, to £6 10s; heifers, lo £3 10s. Fat sheep.—Ewes, to 235; wethers, to 24s Id; lambs, to 255. Store sheep.—Lambs, to 18s; wethers, to 225; breeding ewes, to 22s 9d. Wairoa sheep and cattle were in the store pens. A line of 366 whitefaeed wether lambs on account of Tukimokihi station, well grown and woolled, in good order, realised 15s Bd. Twelve Hereford and F.A.-Hereford cross 18-month steers, fairly well grown and in good store condition, sold at £3 18s, while 38 Polled Angus 18-month heifers, small framed and in store condition, from Messrs. Thomas Bros., Waikaremoana, brought £2 2s.
