Rangitikei led by three goals to one at half-time-There was an exciting finish, extra time I being played, Matangi scoring the decidI ing goal. j In the junior semi-final, Matangi C (lv j Brown. .]. Ranstead, L. Chitty and W. I Phillips) beat Mntamatu A (R. CI Morgan, P. Thirhvall, B. .Johnston and F. I Maisey) by nine goals to three. Matangi . won comfortably. Thirhvall had a nasty i fall in the first ehukka. Ho resumed after medical attention, but was replaced at half-time. Ranstead in the first game also had a heavy fall, his horse rolling right over him. ' He was unhurt, however, and finished the giuno. The first Handicap Cup game resulted in Cambridge defeating 'IV Awaniutii by :16 nuals to 14. The game was not spectacular. Te Awamntu were stiper- ' tor, but could not overtake their younger I opponents' lend.
