State 330yds. medley championship : B, Clarke, 1; P. Smith, 2; G. Wyatt, 3. It was a remarkable -race, wherein Clarke lowered tlie record by over 9sec. Smith, though beaten by 12yds., also broke the record. Smith led by lour yards at the end of the breaststroke section. Clarke was 4 yards ahead at the end of the backstroke section and improved his lend in the free style section. The previous record was 4.38 1-10. 890yds. championship: Charlton, 1 ; Ryan*. 2; Tasris, 3. It was a thrilling race which soon became a contest between Tasris. Ryan and Charlton, with the other two competitors well behind.’ Charlton was slightly in front of Ryan at 650, With Tasris three yards away. Charlton improved bis lead slightly in the next lap, Tasris dropping 10 yards behind. In the last I»P> Charlton and Ryan fought strenuously. the former winning by half a yard with Tasris 15yds. ochind. The Frenchman was by no means at bis best. The times were: Charlton, 10.57; Ryan, 10.37 2-5.
