NAPIER WOOL SALE
PASSINGS LESS FREQUENT INFERIOR SORTS EASIER LAMB VALUES ERRATIC (Special to Hit! Herald.) NAPIER, this day. Values at, the Napier wool sale to-day continued tirm on those at Wellington last week, and as the selling proceeded a clearer view of the position was possible than during the very early stages of the sale, when many conflicting opinions were held.
Compared with values at Napier last month, super and good wools were very firm, with medium and low grades a shade easier in some instances. The market for lambs wool was very erratic, values fluctuating beyond the understanding of the growers, who often had reserves well above the highest bids but vet who sometimes got what they asked, and a little more. ("Irowers seemed more inclined to meet the market, and passings were less frequent than at earlier sales at Napier. In the catalogues offered before lunch, very little of the wool remained unsold.
