WOMAN’S FATAL INJURIES
STRUCK BY MOTOR CAR DRIVER NOT EXONERATED (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. “On the evidence before me, I cannot exonerate the driver from blame," said Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., the coroner, at the inquest into the death of Mrs Alice Briefly, aged 02 years, who was struck by a car driven l>v R. E. Hinde, and who d'ied in Auckland as a result oil severe head injuries received in the accident. In returning a verdict that Mrs. Brierly 'a death occurred as a result of head injuries received through being struck by a car driven by Hinde on December 10, the coroner saul: “Here is the case of a w.oman crossing the road when the visibility was stated by the driver himself to be good. She was seen when the car was 40ft. away; yet she was struck by the car. I am not able to exonerate the driver from blame on the evidence before me, and I think further inquiries should be made."
