Mr. W. H. Scrnmons, chairman of the Whakatane club, occupied the chair, and explained the objects of the meeting. A resolution was carried in favor of stops being, taken for the promotion of an acclimatisation society embracing the counties of Whakatane and Opotiki and with the ultimate object of approaching Taurnnga to amalgamate with both societies. The resolution is to be submitted to the ' clubs for confirmation. ■
