THE ANNUAL MEETING SATISFACTORY FINANCES The annual summoned meeting of the Loyal Gisborne Lodge, 6087. Manchester Unity Oddfellows, was held last night. Bro. F. L. Barker, N. 0.. presiding over a fair attendance. The adoption of the balance sheet was moved by Bro. F. O. Ellis, I'.G., and the secretary, Bro. C. H. Anibndge, P.D.G.M., gave a lull .explanation of various, items. Bro. V. C. Rothwell, P.G.. lodge auditor, spoke at length on the fine work of the secretary, and these remarks were fully endorsed by the, district book examiner, Bro. F. T. Robinson. On the motion of Bro. G. A, Holmes. I'.G.. the secretary was voted the usual bonus.

Officers were elected as follow : Management committee. Bros. G. A. Holmes, 11. T. Sinden and F. W, Nelson, P.G.'s.. re-elected; auditor, Bro. V. C. Rothwell, 8.C., re-elected; special sick visitors, Bros. H. J. Clayton and G. A. Holmes, P.G.'s, re-elected : deputies for the district conference ill Auckland in .March. Bro. C !I. Ambridge, P.D.G.M., unopposed, and Bro. C. F. Stubbs, 8.C.. A vote oJ thanks was passed to Bros. Holmes and Clayton for their valuable services as sick visitors during the past

It was decided to amalgamate Nos. 1 and 5 surpluses, and permission was given to write d,own the values of properties where required, also to make provision for the working expenses, to the approval of the actuary of Friendly Societies. These proposals were fully explained by Ibe secretary, and several members, speaking on the matter, agreed on the details so clearly put forward by the secretary.

A very lengthy report was given by Pro. H.'.l. Clayton. 8.C.. on sick mem hers, tlio list at present being very heavy. A vote of thanks was passed to Dr. 11. Angcll for his generous assistance during the year by granting n rebate, which had assisted the lodge, fo keep unemployed members financial. After the closing of the lodge, refreshments were partaken of, and the assistance of the sisters -present was much appreciated.
