. The necessity of an entente between Britain and Italy is urged by MajorGeneral J. F. Fuller, in an article in the Nineteenth Century review. Jle says that France is paralysed by fear of Germany, and can only, be won as a friend by British hostility towards Germany. .Moreover, Britain and Italy could localise a Franco-German war and maintain sea communications in the Mediterranean. ' ,
Britain, he should also be friendly with America, with which she should strategically control the Pacific.
