AORANGI'S PASSENGERS
LIFE IN QUARANTINE WELL TREATED SYDNEY, Jan. 26. "We were treated extremely well in quarantine; the arrangements are splendid," said Mr. Alfred du Cros, one ol the Aorangi passengers, after having been rel.-ased from quarantine to-day. "The wav the stores wen- taken off the ship and ' the passengers landed in quarantine was marvellous organisation, said Mr. du Oros, who is a retired director of thn Dunlop Rubber Company. "We lost our clothes while they were fumigated, and bad to have a bath in some sort of Tar water.' " "And it smelt horribly," interjected Mrs. du Cros. "The quarantine arrangements here are very line," said Mr. du Cros. "I cannot praise tho doctors too highly. They were exceedingly nice and generous to everybody and extraordinarily polite." "The stewards worked like soldiers, added Mr. du Cros. "Everybody to-day was smiling and preparing for fishing and games. Many passengers came down to see us off." The worst inconvenience suffered was from mosquitoes. . Dr Albert D. Piatt, of Cambridge, Doctor of Bacteriology and Pathology at Adelaide. Hospital and University, also was freed from quarantine to-day. In his student days, he said, ho saw Knglish quarantine stations, and the Sydney station compared most favorably with them. "I think your regulations aro perhaps the strictest in the world," said Dr. Piatt, "and are completely justified.
