200 AGED PEOPLE SAVED FIRE IN INFIRMARY LONDON, Jan. 20. There were exciting scenes at- a fire in ►he t"itv of-Loudon Institution in Bow road, where 200 aged bedridden men and women, some of whom were blind, were hurriedly draped m blankets and carried out by 60 nurses who were available for the rescue work. They placed tho patients 1 in wheeled chairs, or wheeled out the beds themselves to safety. In the meantime 200 firemen and 20 engines were working on the burning block, and put out the fire in two hours.
