AUCKLAND, this day. The well-known champion cyclist, L. G. Lukey, who left Wellington on Saturday on an attempted record-breaking

ride to Auckland and . back, lias made unexpectedly good progress. lie reached Auckland shortly after 3 p.m. yesterday and immediately set out on the return trip.

MR. MALCOLM FRASER In 1932 Mr. Malcolm Fraser, then Government Statistician, was appointed Under-Secretary of Internal Allairs, in recognition of a career of distinction in the Public.
