ROOSEVELT’S PLANS
CLASH WITH PRESS
WASHINGTON, Dec. JO. President Roosevelt is using every effort to avoid a elash with The newspapers, which are very restless under the restrictions of their code. Mr. Dean Jennings, of .the San Francisco ‘‘Call-Bulletin,’ was discharged for his activities in the American Newspaper Guild, which sought complete code control and a. wage .schedule for editorial employees. The N.B.A, ordered Mr. Randolph Hearst to reo.niploy Jennings. Hearst refused and the N.B.A. withdrew the Blue Eagle. It appears that a crisis has been reached in the relations of the newspapers to the N.B.A.
