As a result of a collision in which a motor-lorry capsized over a bank, Jack O’Keefe, son of Mr. F. ol Mokauiti, was admitted to the To Jvuiti Hospital with serious injuries. The accident occurred when the child was returning from sports at Aria.
Or. J. 11. Elder, who was recently attached fo the public hospitals at Dunedin and Gisborne, and Dr. G. W. Moore have been appointed house surgeons at the Ashburton Public Hospital, in succession to.Drs. W. F. Watters and Zoo Rutherford. ITr. Moore is a son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Moore, of Ashburton, and lie recently graduated from the Medical School of the University ol Otago. He has taken up his duties, and Dr. Elder will join the staff in a few weeks.
