There was ti large attendance and keen competition in tiie circumstances. All buying centres were well represented. The catalogue totalled 26.612 bales, but, the committee's limit was 28.001) bales. The demand was mainly for finer wools, local mills competing for -finest lambs. Prices early iu the sale were:—Southdown, to 1l;jd ; baltbred, SM to IJJuI; line crossbred.
