The attendance of the public was satisfactory under the circumstances. One of the most successful of the competitors was B. Jackson, who won four amateur events, ’the broad and high jumps, the pole vault, the 100yds handicap, and also secured second place in the 220yds handicap. The horse section was among the most, popular on the programme, and attracted large entries. The judge was Mr. K. Stewart, Nuhaka. The Rev. Father Curley was the secretary and Mr. W. Ward steward. The success of the meeting .was due largely to the organising efforts of the strong committee, comprising Mr. J. Allen, chairman, Mr A. Dods, secretary. Air. L. Grey, assistant, secretary, Rev.
