TENEMENT FIRE
BLAZE IN NEW YORK

As a climax to a series of disastrous tenement house fires during the. last few months, which have taken many lives, a building in a crowded section of Brooklyn was burnt-’to-night, killing two firemen and injuring at least 40 others, some very seriously. The staircase on which the firemen were working collapsed, burling the men into tile debris and the water-filled cellar. Few local fives have taken such a toll of fire-fighting forces.
